Make A Wish

Friday, February 28, 2014

I’m so excited to share this card with you today because it was so much fun to make; and, I’m hoping this will inspire some of you Lawn Fawn stamp owners to make this adorable leprechaun. I think there are so many possibilities with this idea; for instance, you can make tags, treat bags, and even layouts for St. Patrick’s Day. I combined several LF stamp sets for this card—some new and some old, and I’m so in love with how it turned out. I think my favorite part of this card are the gold stars that I created using some gold embossing powder and the new LF stamp set, Starry backdrops. That stamp set has a large starry image that is perfect for so many different scenes and it also has the elements to create an adorable rainbow.
For the coloring, I used distress inks: Broken china, and mowed lawn. I colored in the little leprechaun using my Copic Markers, and for the rainbow I used: Pale Tomato, butter bar, and soft pool, inks by Hero Arts
Stamp sets used to create this card: Gnome sweet gnome, Hello Sunshine, Starry Backdrops, Hats off to you. I also used the large stitched journaling die as the base of my card, you can view that awesome die set by clicking, here
I hope you enjoyed this colorful card! I wanted to post something a little bit more awesome today, but since I have so many orders to finished I had to make this a short and simple blog post. I’m mainly trying to focus on keeping up with all of my posts’ even if they’re simple like this one. Blogging keeps me sane, hehe. I hope you all have a great weekend!

DIY—Handmade boxes!

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Hello everyone! I’m so excited to be back with this really easy—yet super fun, tutorial. I’ve always been interested in making my own card boxes; and one day I felt like searching the sea of videos on Youtube to find a quick, easy, and fun handmade box tutorial. When searching, I came across this really cute duo, from the UK, that has a blog and Youtube channel dedicated to handmade crafts; and, I immediately feel in love with them. They’re so cute, funny, and delightfully entertaining. You can find them here and here.

What I did was take the box making instructions they’ve provided and made a box according the dimensions that I needed. I wanted to make a box for my handmade ‘Thank you’ cards, but I also wanted room to include handmade envelope seals and a black and white bakers twine for a little added cuteness.
For this tutorial I’m going to simply show photographs of how I made these boxes, but you can check out their video for detailed instructions on how to cut and assemble these boxes. I don’t want to take full credit for these—I’m hoping to get them the exposure they deserve for this wonderful idea. You can click here for the video.

Enjoy!

Now wasn’t that just the cutest?! I love that I know how to make these now—these would work great a gifts, favor boxes, and so much more. I hope you give this a try! Happy Crafting!

A Great Tip for Cricut Users that Love Using Their Cricut Markers

Monday, April 23, 2012

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. The Cricut markers have been in stores for some time now and lately I’ve been thinking about how I can incorporate them into my every-day crafting. Then one day while I was sitting at my craft table it hit me! I could use them with the Hello Kitty Cartridge—since they have the silhouette feature, and let me tell you it works great!

The markers are very easy to use, all you’d need to do is read the simple instructions and you’re ready to go. Here is a quick video I made showing how it works.
Then once the image has been drawn onto your card stock, you can either use the ‘blackout’ feature to cute the Hello Kitty silhouette or you can cut it out yourself like I did.
I’m going to be trying this with a few other characters on this cartridge and I’ll be sure to share my new ideas! I can’t wait!
