I got he best surprise ever from my boyfriend, Gabe. He bought me a new bike! It's a bike that I've wanted for a while, and I was so happy when I saw him pull up on it--I was speechless at first, haha, then super excited. I haven't had my very own bike since I was around 9 years old. I always used others peoples bikes as a teenager and even before owning this bike I would also barrow bikes from Gabe. But now I can ride this to the store and to ship my packages. I go to the market almost everyday; so, this will definitely help me save some money on gas and help me burn some extra calories, too, hehe. Isn't it beautiful?!
Also, this will be my last post until July 15th. I'm going on vacation on Monday and I'll be out of the country until the 12th. I thought about planning guest posts' but I really would like to take a complete vacation and not have to worry about anything at all. No work, no blog, no e-mails, no phone, no worries (hopefully). I think I could definitely use a break from everything, than come back home with fresh ideas and a clear, rested mind.
One thing I've been having trouble with, though, is the thought of the plane flight. I've never been on a plane before and I'm SO nervous! Are any of you afraid of flying? I'm not really afraid of the plane going down--I mostly get really anxious when I think about that fact that I'll feel trapped in the plane when I'm a zillions miles in the sky--with no place to go if I freak out. A small part of me is excited to try this for the first time but a large portion of me is really scared. Do you have any tips for a fearful flyer?

Blog GIVEAWAY sponsored by Bridal Accessories Designer, Lisa Dew
Monday, July 9, 2012
Hi everyone! I hope you’re all having a happy and productive
Monday. Today I have a gift for you—a GIVEAWAY! Today’s giveaway is sponsored by
an amazing designer, Lisa Dew, and is the proud owner of The Honey Dew shop. Lisa
designs wonderful bridal head pieces and even creates pieces using vintage
jewelry. She’s is going to be giving away this beautiful headpiece.
Before I provide you with the details on how you can win
this lovely bridal piece, I’ll share a little bit about Lisa with you. She
lives in Tampa, Florida and has a background filled with art and love for
designing. She attended B.G.S.U., with a degree in interior design; and even taught
Art History, drawing, and painting at a classical private school for a number
of years. She is the proud mother of two adult children that play a major role
in the character of her shop. Lisa’s oldest daughter lives in Harlem, NYC and
is an upper Eastside nanny of a young girl named, Hannah, who has profound
Autism. Hannah’s teachers gave Hannah a cute nickname, Honey Dew, and that is
how Lisa’s shop got its name. Lisa’s daughter Meg was a competitive
international level Irish dancer, and soon became the go-to mom when all the
girls needed costume repairs. Shortly thereafter Lisa began to style the
dancers from head to toe. Once word spread about Lisa’s designs, she was on
high demand by some of the top Irish dancers and had to create custom pieces to
fit the style and personality of each girl. Lisa is grateful of the 8 years she
spent working with these dancers because it provided her with the ability to
design a custom look that can fit the individuality of any woman—she can even
attach thousands of crystals onto a dress with a snap of a finger!

Affordable Last Minute Easter Cake
Saturday, April 7, 2012
If you’re like me you don’t think of what you’re going to make for Holiday parties until the last minute, and this year I thought about making a cute—cheap, Easter themed Cake. If you have eggs and food coloring at home in your pantry already then this cake will only cost you a little over $5.00. To make this cake all you’ll need is:
· 2 boxes of white cake mix ($1.00 each)
· 2 containers or white icing ($1.59 each)
· 2 or 1 small round baking pans
· Food coloring
· Vegetable oil
· 6 eggs
· Water
What I did for the first batch was simply follow the instructions on the back of the cake mix box—once that was done, I divided the batter in half—in separate bowls, then added yellow food coloring into one bowl and pink food coloring into another. Then bake! Once they are out, wash and dry all the dishes and pans, then repeat—but with the purple and blue food coloring instead of the pink and yellow. Once they have cooled on a rack you can start icing. What I do is place the first cake layer facing up and then trim the top off to insure the cake will be level (I do this for each cake layer). After you have trimmed the first layer, simply spread about 2 tbsp of the icing on top then repeat those steps for the other layers. It should look something like this: (sorry for the poor image quality I did this last night and I didn’t have much natural lighting, lol).
Then from this point you can simply use the remaining frosting to finish it up. Then you are ready to serve or take it your party!
I hope you all have enjoyed this post—and I hope you have a GREAT Easter!
Also, stay tuned for……
