Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week, Pillow Box Die

Welcome to another Lawn Fawn inspiration day! Today we are featuring the new (and adorable) pillow box die. This die would be perfect used all on it's own BUT Kelly also designed some really fun add ons; such as, the new Peek and bat die, and the give a hoot dies. These dies can turn a simple pillow box die into a cute little bat--perfect for Halloween, and you could also turn an ordinary pillow box treat into a little owl. So cute!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week, Booyah

Welcome to another Lawn Fawn Inspiration week! I'm always super excited for LF's new releases and I'm always so happy to share my creations with everyone. When I created this card I couldn't help but do a watercolor background. I used two distress ink colors: Black soot, and Dusty concord. If you take a close look at the cardstock in back of that watecolored panel you'll notice a new shade from the Lawn Fawn paper collection (that will be shown in greater detail during inspiration week). This new stamp set, Booyah, is so cute and has so many different elements to play around with to create the most adorable ghost trick or treaters!

Halloween Cupcake Toppers

Happy Halloween! Today I thought it would be cute to make some cupcake toppers using the Lawn Fawn stamp set, Critters in Costume! I think this set is so adorable, and I love that these stamps can be used year round. For instance, the super hero owl could be used as a birthday card. I can't wait to find more things to do with this set. What I did to make these toppers would stamp the images onto a white piece of paper, color them in and cut them out using some scissors. You could; however, use the matching dies that coordinate with this stamp set and you can find them by clicking here. Once they were all cut out I simply adhered them to a wooden food pick and once they were dry I placed them into my cupcakes! 

D.I.Y. Trick or Treat Bags for Halloween

Halloween is a time of sweet celebration; and, whether you’re hosting Halloween parties, celebrating with your children, or preparing for spooky trick or treaters— making candies bags is something we all have to do at some point. We all know that making cute treat bags is a fun process (well if you’re like me it’s fun, haha), but making them doesn’t have to break the bank. I’m going to show you how I made these treat bags, and also provide links and info as to where I purchased the tools I’m about to show you. 

I always check the clearance and dollar bins at my local craft stores, and every year one store in particular, Joanns, has holiday themed acrylic stamps for only $1.00. I purchased a few of the Halloween and Thanksgiving themed stamps, and I was super excited to get a chance to use them for this project! You can find this Inkadinkado stamp set and many others like it at your local Joanns Fabric store. 

Next, you’ll want to use a chalk ink when using the Inkadinkado stamps. These stamps are made out of acrylic and don’t take well to the normal ink pads; thus, chalk ink is the prime resolution to acquiring a clean crisp image. I like using the Dew Drop Multi-surface chalk ink, by Versa Magic, in Midnight black. 

Next, you can grab your treat bag. I’m using treat bags I purchased from a supplier on Etsy, The Lemon Drop Shop. You can find the listing for 100 of these Kraft bags for only $8.00 by clicking here. Once you have your kraft (or preferred treat bag), go ahead and apply some ink to your stamp, and stamp the treat bag with your preferred spooky image. 

The next set I’m going to use is the mini stamp set created by Lawn Fawn. You can find this set by clicking here. What I did with these is simply stamp a few of the pumpkins, in both sizes. Then color them in, and cut them out. 

Next I took my recollections tape runner and began adhering the pumpkins to the treat bag surrounding my stamped image. Then I stamped a few accents around the pumpkins and also stamped my sentiment. 

Once that was done, I filled my treat bag with yummy treats, grabbed my trusty Crop-A-Dile and placed two whole punches at the top which allowed me to string some twine through and create a bow. The twine I used for this project is made by Lawn Fawn, you can find the link to this product here.

Card of the week #4

This is actually the first Halloween card I’ve ever made; and, at first I didn’t think I’d have any fun making this one—but I actually did. I pulled out this Halloween themed paper stack I had collecting dust in the back of my craft closet and thought, “Hey, I should do something with this”. Haha. I’m glad I did too because I had fun using all the different papers to make this spooky little card. I like how the ghosts’ are super happy and lovin’ afterlife.

Just for fun, I’ll show you a few pictures of the disassembled card and tools I used so you get an idea of how I put it together. 

Doesn't it look like it was fun to make? I want to keep working with this Halloween paper stack and some left over treat bags I have, to try and create a really fun D.I.Y. project for y’all. So stay tuned for that! Also, I don’t know if you noticed by I actually used my heat gun and embossing tools. Around two months ago I had a post about my new crafting tools; and, the embossing powder, versamark pad, and heat gun were some of the new toys I add to my crafting collection—and I was supposed to create something new with it and I finally did! The ‘Boo!’ sentiment was created with the ‘snow white’ embossing powder and I love it, it came out so great against the black card stock.

Well, Halloween is nearing and I can’t wait to see what else I come up with for all upcoming spooky parties but most of all I can’t wait to see what all the other wonderfully creative crafters are going to come up with this year too!
