Happy Halloween! Today I thought it would be cute to make some cupcake toppers using the Lawn Fawn stamp set, Critters in Costume! I think this set is so adorable, and I love that these stamps can be used year round. For instance, the super hero owl could be used as a birthday card. I can't wait to find more things to do with this set. What I did to make these toppers would stamp the images onto a white piece of paper, color them in and cut them out using some scissors. You could; however, use the matching dies that coordinate with this stamp set and you can find them by clicking here. Once they were all cut out I simply adhered them to a wooden food pick and once they were dry I placed them into my cupcakes!

Winter Wonderland Collection
Monday, October 14, 2013
Today I wanted to share a little part of my 2013 Christmas card
collection. This year I’m going to have two different themed collections in my shop, and each collection will have cards, matching tags, and matching cupcake
toppers (maybe even some banners, if I can find the time to make them, hehe). I was so excited to use all of my new Christmas themed stamps to make these cards, Lawn Fawn and many other stamp companies created such amazing images! The first collection is almost finished and I've already uploaded a few of them
to my shop today. This collection is named, The Winter Wonderland Collection;
namely because I’m using white card stock for each design and I’m also going
with a clean and simple snow-time-fun feel. In this collection I have a few
single handmade cards, and one set of 8 cards. Last year I sold the ‘Hipster
Snowman’ cards as a set and I’m doing that again this year—but in white. I’m
still leaving the original ivory hipster snowman cards in my shop just in case
anyone wanted to buy those again this year.
The tags, and cupcake toppers will be uploaded shorty, as
well as my second collection which is my ‘Vintage Christmas’ collection. I love
making vintage themed paper items and again like last year I’m going to offer a
variety of vintage themed cards, tags, and cupcake toppers. I can’t wait to
share everything with you, and I’m working so hard to finish the collections—but
it’s kind of hard when I’m also working on orders at the same time. I hope you
enjoyed this little sneak peek of my 2013 card collection and if you decided to
shop with me this year for Christmas and you’re a blog reader feel free to
contact me so I can give you a coupon code!

A DIY Gift Idea, Chalkboard Recipe Book
Friday, October 11, 2013
It was my sister’s birthday on, October 5th, and this year I
wanted to make her something special. Some of you may already know that is a
baker, and runs a small baking business where she sells homemade cupcakes,
cake-pops, and so much more but in case you didn't know, now you’ll understand
why I’m making her a recipe book. She has so many recipes, and I thought it
would be cute if she had one cute book for her to write them all in.
For this project I used real chalkboard card stock, so she
can write on it! How exciting right?! I purchased a large composition book from
Target, and I used the stamp sets, Milo’s ABCs, Blissful Botonicals, Love ‘nbreakfast, and Quinn’s ABCs by Lawn fawn for the sentiments, frying pan, and boarder
stamp image. For the cute bow on top I used the new Christmas stamp set by,
Avery Elle, you can find it by clicking here.
All I did for this book was measure the cover, cut the
chalkboard card stock to size, round the edges of the right side with my Corner
Chomper, and I applied all the designs and sentiments with my stamps, using
VersaMark ink—leaving space in between the ‘Menu’ and frying pan image (that’s
where she can write what’s on the daily menu, if she wants). Next I covered the
stamped images and text with some white embossing powder and I applied some
heat, using my heating tool in order to set it. Once that was dry, I applied
some adhesive to the back and applied it to the front of the book. I didn't using anything to cover the binding because I really liked how it looked. So I
left it as it.
I also made her some homemade cupcakes for her special day,
and I purchase some clear cupcake boxes, made some last minute tags, and I used
the Lawn Fawn Pink Lemonade twine for a little extra added cuteness. These are
the pictures I shared on my Instagram. I hope you enjoyed this gift idea! I
actually posted twice this week, yay me!
Quick and Easy, Halloween Treat Bag, DIY
Thursday, October 10, 2013
Hi everyone! I know it’s been a while since my last post
(and I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, hehe) but I’ve been extra
busy this past month working on orders. Besides working on orders, I’ve been
thinking a lot about fun projects that I wanted to make and share here on my
blog; and, this Halloween treat bag is one of them. I created a Halloween treat
bag last year using some products by Lawn Fawn and I’m super excited to use
their stamps again this year. Actually, this time around I’m using all Lawn
Fawn products, hehe. Last year I used a mixture of stamps by various manufacturers.
What I love most about this treat bag is that it’s so easy
to make! I used paper bags (typically used for lunches) from the dollar store,
the LF stamp set, Critters in Costume, their new tags die set, and some of
their twine from the, Retro Triple pack cord, also by LF. Lastly, for the “Bee.ware!”
sentiment I used their alphabet stamp set, Milo’s ABCs (which I LOVE!).
For the bag—I placed this paper bag on top of some craft
foam to ensure that I would get a perfect image transfer each time I stamped,
and I used several different images from this set and placed them all over the
bag—even going off the edges to give off the effect of a seamless pattern. After
adding all of the images I realized that the bag seemed too tall so I decided
to trim off the top by a few inches using my serrated edge scissors. Next I
punched two small holes at the top of the bag and I set it aside.
For the tag—I used real chalkboard card stock for this
particular tag; and I also used the die from this die set by LF, click here to
view it. Once I ran the tag through my Cuttlebug I grabbed my, Milo’s ABCs
stamp set and created the sentiment, “BEE.WARE!” because I love that little
bear in the bumble bee costume, hehe. Next, I dabbed the sentiment into some
Versamark ink and covered the tag in some white embossing powder—then heat set
it. After that I used a paper towel and dabbed it into some white chalk ink to
make it look like a distressed chalkboard; and, I finished it off by adding
some orange twine.
I absolutely love how this treat bag came out and I think a
dozen or so of these would look awesome all lined up on a candy table for a Halloween
party. However, if you aren't planning on having a Halloween party but you
would like to make some treats for friends and loved ones these bags will work
for that, too. I hope you enjoyed this DIY post, and I’m really looking forward
to the next time I get a chance to blog. I’m hoping it will be this Friday.
Take care!
