New Items and Behind the Scenes of my Photoshoot

I spent the first half of my day, yesterday, taking pictures of the new things I've been creating for my shop. It’s been a while since I've been able really sit down and think of new things I wanted to make with all the wonderful stamps and cardstock I have; so, I made myself do it. I was starting to feel like the items in my store were a bit dated—even the pictures were old, and even taken with an old camera. I've been improving my skills, and adding to my stamp collection but that wasn't showing in my work, or in my shop. So, I felt that I needed to seriously set aside some time to make a few NEW things—at least.
What do you think? It’s not a complete collection—there are bits and pieces of different themes in my shop but they’re definitely things that are in season; such as, weddings and baby showers. I even added a birthday card set to my shop—since birthday cards are needed year round, and I don’t have enough of them in my shop, hehe. I’m so totally obsessed with that birthday card set, btw. I always love a cute, colorful, yet simple, card.
Lastly, I thought it would be fun to show you my makeshift photo studio, LOL! I made this super cute tissue paper garland for a photo tutorial I did for, Lawn Fawn, you can check it out by clicking, here. So, I thought it would be cute to also use it for some of my shop pictures…can’t let it go to waste right? I also wanted to talk about this really awesome craft light I bought at Joanns—when I was there the other day. I’m always annoyed at how much shadow I get when taking pictures near a window and I've always wanted something really cheap—yet efficient, to fix that situation; and, I finally found the answer! It’s this mini light, click here to view it. It’s normally $19.99 but I got it on sale for 50% off. So, not only was I happy about the price—I was also happy about how well it removed unwanted shadow from my subjects. If you do product photography for your shop like I do, this should help. I love it.
