DIY—Save the Date Announcements

I didn’t get a chance to blog about this DIY yesterday because I had an order that was consuming all of my time. Well—most days I have orders consuming all of time but in yesterday’s case, I was swamped; and I had to get that order out before the post office closed, haha. Anywho, I thought I’d post this today instead of waiting until Wednesday to post these super cute Save the Date announcements. Ever since I purchased this Lawn Fawn stamp set, Summertime Charm, I’ve wanted to do tons of things with the mason jar stamp. Plus I love that this stamp set also comes with the coordinating dies—it makes cutting so much easier! Lately I’ve noticed that lots of ‘Save the Date’ announcements are getting simple, whimsical, and unique. Save the Date cards don’t have to be so serious anymore, these days, and I love that.
For these cards, I’m using Recollections Kraft cardstock, Recollections white cardstock, Lawn Fawn’s Pink Lemonade Petite paper pack, Black Memento ink, Summertime Charm stamp set, and the coordinating dies—also by Lawn Fawn. I cut the Kraft card base at: 6 1/2” x 4”, next I cut both the insert and yellow and white polka dot pattern paper at: 3” x 3 3/4”, and lately, the pattern paper base (that lays over the Kraft cardstock) at: 3 1/4” x 4”.
When creating the insert I used the stamp sets: Quinn’sABCs, Smitty’s ABCs, and You’ve got mail. I used Quinn’s to write the names, Smitty’s for the text and date, and You've got mail for the adorable multicolored boarder. I used some of my Copic markers to color in the large letters; and, I also used the Hero Arts cube shadow inks: butter bar, and orange soda—to add pops of color.
I think the final result came out so cute, and now I’m even wondering if I should offer these in my shop, hehe. They’re too cute NOT to share. Well I hope you've enjoyed this DIY post and I hope I’ve also inspired you to give something like this a try. I love doing things like this in between orders because it’s a nice break from all the repetition.
