Lawn Fawn Inpsiration Week--Stuck On You

Welcome back to my blog for another day of Inspiration! Today I'm sharing this card I created using, Stuck on You, by Lawn Fawn--for their inspiration week. I live in California and I'm a huge fan of music so I thought I'd use this stamp set to create a fun desert scene and I was going for like a Coachella sky for this card, hehe. I colored the entire ground and sky using distress inks, and I did some simply stamping and die cutting for the rest of the card. I really love the simplicity and shadows to give the card some added interest. This card would be great for giving all year round. I just love how you can do that with any of Lawn Fawns stamp sets just by combining them with other stamped images or creating your own sentiments.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week-Scalloped Cupcake Wrapper Die, Grassy Cupcake Wrapper Die, and Scripty Hugs

Today is filled with lots of inspiration because Lawn Fawn is focusing on three dies today--The grassy cupcake wrapper die, the scalloped cupcake wrapper die, and the scripty hugs die! If you know me, you know that I love creating party decorations. So when these two cupcake wrappers were first shown to the design team I was incredibly excited. I already have so much fun using them now and I can't image wheat I'll do with them once the holidays start getting closer and closer.

When I created the wrapper using the scalloped cupcake wrapper die I wanted it to be used for  a safari theme so I used the grassy stamp from the new set, Critters in the Jungle and simply did some masking to create one long strip of continue grass. Once that was done I simply added color using some distress ink--it was that simple! I think that technique would also work for coordinating banners, invitations, etc. When I created the Easter theme wrappers it was rather simple but still appealing to the eye because I used some of the adorable Lawn Fawn pattern paper from the, Let's Polka Mon Amie paper collection--with the grassy cupcake wrapper die. So simple yet so soft and pretty. Lastly, I wanted to take the scripty hugs die and do something really colorful and fun with it. So I did some simply wet on wet watercoloring on some Tim Holtz watercolor paper, and stamp out a few fun critter/monster images along with a banner, and frame and combined them all together for this fun and happy card!

I hope you've enjoyed all that I created for this day of inspiration! Feel free to head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog and view all of the other amazing DT samples and get a chance to win these items by leaving a comment there. Click here, to go to the LF blog.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week--Let's Play

Today the Lawn Fawn Design team is sharing the cards we made for inspiration week, day 3! We're using the new stamp set, Let's play, from the latest collection and I just love this set. It's perfect for spring and it has so many adorable little critters and elements to create wonderful scenes. When I was creating this card I wanted to use as many images as I could on this card so I made it rather large, hehe. I used Distress inks, Copic markers, and watercolor pencils to make this card as colorful as I could--and I really love the end result. I mixed together two sentiments in order to get this custom one, "Friends make life fun". In order to add some dimension to this card I used 3D adhesive foam, and for a bit of contrast I adhered this panel to a Kraft card base. This card was so much fun to make!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week--Year Five, Happy Birthday Border Die

Welcome to another Lawn Fawn inspiration week! Today we are sharing inspiration for the new mini stamp set, Year Five, along with the, Happy Birthday border die! For this card I combined both the stamps, it's coordinating dies, and the stand alone die to create one fun and colorful card. I used a variety of colored cardstock and heat embossed some white clouds in the background for some added interested.

I wanted the otter to look like he was sailing down the river with his adorable party hat and gift. So I also used the grassy border die and the stamps and dies from the set, Gleeful Gardens, to help set the scene.

Happy Birthday Lawn Fawn!

Happy Birthday Lawn Fawn! Today the LF Design Team is getting together to celebrate their 5th birthday! Woohoo! I've been such a huge fan of this wonderful company for a very long time, and I'm so happy (and lucky) to be on their design team. The owners of LF are such amazing people, they're all smart, funny, talented, and just all around some of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. It's such a joy to know them all and to be apart of their team. Their product is so unique and brings so much joy to so many people--including me. I could be having the worst day and a new LF package in the mail or working on samples makes me so calm and happy--like crafting with their product melts away my worries.

Just Saying Hello

The last time I was shopping at Micheals I stopped in my tracks by this adorable Mermaid Kiddo rubber stamp image by Stampendous. I thought this would be perfect for so many things--including a greeting card. I also thought, with watercoloring being so popular right now, that this image would be perfect for that medium. This was my first time watercoloring a large image like this so I wasn't too sure how it would turn out but in the end I just loved it.

I colored in this image using only distress inks. For the ocean background I used Salty Ocean, Peacock feathers, Tumbled glass, and Chipped sapphire. That combination of blues turned out so well. I don't have any skin tone colors so I combined the colors Tattered rose, and Tea dye. Then I added Spun sugar for her cheeks. For her hair I used Scattered straw, Mustard seed, and a little bit of Tattered rose; and for her sea shells and fin I used Shabby Shutters and Bundled sage. Also, the shells she's wearing were colored in using Shaded lilac and the adorable little sea horse was colored in using both Mustard seed and Spiced Marmalade.

To finish off the card I used the 'Just saying Hello' sentiment from, Grand Greetings by Lawn Fawn on some vellum paper as well as Sparkling Clear, and Aquamarine sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.

I hope you all enjoyed this card. I had so much fun coloring it all in! Also, stay tuned for a new video by me on the Lawn Fawn blog tomorrow. If you head over to their blog you'll  noticed I have a card there for Scrapbook adhesives week and I'll be sharing how I made that card! I'll also share the video and images here on my blog, tomorrow.
