Watercolor Christmas Cards---My Etsy Shop

If you follow my Instagram account @unifyhandmade you may have already seen a sneak peek of these cards that I’ve released in my Etsyshop. I’m super excited about these cards because they include some of my hand painted watercolor designs—and since I’m totally obsessed with watercoloring right now it seems appropriate for me to incorporate my love for painting into my newest Christmas card collection. What also makes these extra special, to me, is the fact that I created some of the accents—like the laurel—on these cards using my tablet. I’ve been playing around with it for 2 years now and trying to get the hang of digital drawing (it’s so much fun).

These cards are being offered in sets of 8, and you can purchase a set of one particular design; or, you can purchase a variety pack. I also created some adorable tags with the same watercolor theme, too.

 I wanted to create some place cards using this wood mounted stamp I purchased from Paper Source a few months ago, and I thought it would be a great time to create some for Christmas. Perfect for use at dinner time for Christmas Eve; or, Christmas day!

I’ve always wanted to mass produce my very own watercolor designs and I was able to do that by simply creating my designs on this Tim Holtz watercolor paper and then transferring them to my computer by scanning them into Photoshop.

I’ve always wanted to create a red and white themed Christmas line—and this year I finally did it. In this collection I’m using traditional Christmas colors but with a modern day twist. If you can see in the last image (shown above) I also created a heart shape. I have big plans for new cards coming this Valentine’s Day. I can’t wait to share them!

Milk and Cookies--Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

I love the adorable images in this stamp set, Milk and Cookies. It's so easy to use this set in so many ways; and, for this card I created a mini card using some watercoloring, and paper piecing. I used one of my favorite sheets of paper from the, Sweater Weather paper collection--and used it as a table cloth. I can imagine one could use this stamp set for creating adorable Christmas card scenes, tags for home baked goods, etc. Lawn Fawn has also created the coordinating die set, here, to make crafting more convenient for us!

Snow Day--Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

Woohoo! Another Lawn Fawn inspiration day—the set being featured on the LF blog today is, SnowDay; and, this set perfectly coordinates with the Snow Day paper collection, too! The cute and whimsical images in this stamp set just blew me away the moment I laid my eyes on them. I always brag about how versatile their stamps set are and I can’t help but do the same with this stamp set, too. Everything minus the ‘Merry and Bright’ sentiment can be used year round; for instance, you have the cute bunnies, the heart images, tree images, and the little bird. Combining the bunnies from, Snow Day, and a LF alphabet set, for example, can provide you with the perfect stamp combination for creating some Easter tags, or cards. 

When creating this card I wanted to set a snowy scene; therefore, I wanted to stick to colors like: white, light blue, silver, and muted tones—as shown on the bunnies. I stamped the tress in some versamark ink and heat embossed them in silver. I than used white cardstock along with the forest border die, and the stitched hillside border dies to create the layered snowbanks. I was inspired by Kelly, who was inspired by Nancy (who works at the LFHQ) when I added the light blue distress ink between each snowbank. Nancy’s idea was brilliant and it adds so much to this card. For the base of the card I used the 12x12 paper from the Snow Day paper collection, and I love how the color and sentiment on that paper matches with the rest of the card. 

Because LF has come out with so many fantastic elements that make papercrafting a cinch, I was able to make this card in no time! No more measuring and sketching out hills, no more cutting panels—everything is so easy to put together now and we can stick to focusing on which scenes we’d like to create!

Snow Day Collection--Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

Today on the Lawn Fawn blog, they're showcasing the, Snow Day Collection. This collection has some really beautiful patterned paper in the 12x12 and 6x6 size--this collection also has some adorable flair, wood veeners, twine, and a coordinating stamp set. However, the matching stamp set will have it's very own post tomorrow!

This is the first time I've ever created a card that was made entirely out of cardstock, only. If you take a closer look at this card you'll notice that I didn't use any stamped images on it. I used the papers from both the 12x12 and 6x6 sets, along with the forest border die, scripty joy, stitched rectangles, the stitched circle from the stitched banners die set, and a few wood veeners.

I think that this entire collection (including the coordinating stamp set) would be great for creating your entire collection of Christmas cards this year. You can create such bright, fun, cards!

Deck the Halls & Stitched Snow Flakes--LF Inspiration Week

Today Lawn Fawn is featuring two more awesome items from their newest collection, for inspiration week. We're using the set Deck the Halls to create some really awesome samples, as well as the Stitched Snow Flakes dies set. I love that this stamp set comes in a smaller size--which means it's a great price but it still has all of these fun elements needed to create a beautiful card. Deck the Halls would be a great set this year for mass producing your Christmas cards; namely, because you could create amazing one layer cards with this set. But, if you'd like something more intricate LF has also created the matching die set, too.

The Stitched snow flakes die set is up there on my top five favorite die sets from this new collection--it's so beautiful cut out onto plain white paper; however, if you were to cut these snow flakes onto pattern paper or glitter paper the results would look even more amazing. I used the largest of the dies from this set to create this frosty treat bag. I think it's gorgeous and I cant' wait to make many more for the the upcoming holidays.

Love You a Latte & Rectangles--Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

I created this lovely card using the new stamp set, Love You A Latte and it's coordinating dies. I love that this set is so versatile. You could use these set to create gift tags for handmade hot cocoa kits, tea tags, adorable greeting cards and so much more! You'll also notice the stitched edge detail on both the panels on this card; namely, because I used the Large Rectangle dies to make, making this card a cinch. To go with the whole coffee/latte/tea theme I also used some watercolors to create the look of of a coffee stain in the background, and I used some LF sequins from an older collection to embellish the card for some added interest.

Exciting News!

I'm so excited to announce that I'm Lawn Fawns newest Design Team member! I get to work along side the gals I've looked up to ever since I found Lawn Fawn a few years ago. Sending you Monster Hugs

Today I have a fun video on the Lawn Fawn blog and Youtube channel. I'm using distress inks to create this awesome watercolor "Sending you Monster hugs" card. Click the video below for details and links to the products that were used.

Sending Hedgehugs

I had so much fun creating this card! I was one of those times where I just needed to stop when I was doing and create something new, fun, and just for me. At times I tend to get a bit bored when creating the same things over and over again for my shop--I do love what I do, though. I'm not really complaining, but if you're a crafter, too, I'm sure you can understand what I mean, hehe.

To create this card I used the stamps set, hedgehugs, along with it's coordinating dies--by Lawn Fawn. To create the triangle look at the bottom and top of the card I used the stamp set, argyle backdrops with some gold embossing. I also used some Tim Holtz watercolor card stock and some of the my Tim Hotlz distress markers in: shabby shutters, weathered wood, tattered rose, victorian velvent, and frayed burlap--to create the watercolor background panel. I stamped the cute hedgehog images in some versafine black ink (which is a ink perfect for use with watercolors--no bleeding). For the text bubble I used one of the dies form the set, chit chat, and stamped the sentiment using black ink. The tag was also created using a LF die, and paper from the new, Sweater Weather collection. Lastly, the sequins in, Lemon Meringue, Marshmallow, and Pink blush were by Pretty Pink Posh.

I just adore how this card turned out, and I can't wait to make many more like it--when I have some more time. I hope you enjoyed this post and feel free to leave me a comment!

Best Witches Shaker Card

Today I thought it would be fun to share a shaker card I made over the holiday weekend. I was so happy to have such a long weekend so that I could get creative with all of my new Lawn Fawn stamps! Since I've already made a Christmas card I thought it would be fun to creative something festive for the Halloween since it's next month, already. To create this card I used the new stamp set, Spooktacular, along with it's coordinating dies. For the window and card panel of the shaker card I used the new, large stitched rectangle stackables dies--as well as the, stitched hillside border dies to create the black hills. Overall I have to say this card came out really cute and I love how just one stamp set can make such a cute impression--with all of it's fun images and adorable sentiments. I hope you love this card as much as I do!
